Hesketodrome
Hesketodrome is a personal desktop tool. I use it to prepare episodes of the podcast השבוע במזרח התיכון (This Week in the Middle East) and upload them to the podcast’s YouTube channel.
It runs on my own computer, for my own channel. It isn’t a public service, and nobody else can sign in to it.
What it does with YouTube
Through the YouTube Data API, the tool:
- reads the identity of the channel it is signed in to, to make sure it uploads to the right one;
- uploads episode videos and sets their titles, descriptions and publication schedule;
- sets video thumbnails.
It requests the scopes youtube.upload and youtube.force-ssl, and nothing
else.
Who runs it
